Tyne and Wear Youth Open

Once again the kids from Durham youth did us proud with an outstanding performance at the Tyne and Wear open at Rainton Meadows.

Pictured above from left to right are Dom Buckley, David Nixon, Arron Johnston, Craig Nixon, Kirsty Hutchinson, Jack Bell, James Hubbard and Robert Raine. Other kids not in pic as they left before the end were Ste Addison, Jack Revely, Jordan Weldon, Katie Piercly, Kieron Bridon, Nathan Parker.(sorry if i've left anybody out).

Well done to all of the youth that played, especially Kirsty Hutchinson last 16 of the ladies, Craig Nixon last 16 of youth, Dom Buckley and Rob Raine quarter finals, Jack Bell semi finals and the WINNER JAMES HUBBARD.

It was an absolute awesome display of youth darts as a lot of these kids are very young and were competing in a 19 and under competition, and for them to reach the money stages is FANTASTIC.

Skipsea Sands

What a great weekend we had at Skipsea Sands holiday park for the NYDO youth challenge, pictured above are the 5 Durham youth players that travelled to the comp and one very loyal supporter. Rob Raine, James Hubbard, Kirsty Hutchinson, Jack Bell, Dynamite Dom Buckley and the loyal supporter Katie bell, all travelled to the comp with high expectations of at least putting a good show of what Durham youth are all about, and they did not disappoint I can tell you. Saturday was the team event, 8 teams of up to 11 players randomly selected by the nydo, the format was singles best of 3 501.

Rob Raine played 7 won 4 in the u21's section.
James Hubbard played 7 won 7 (well done james)
Kirsty Hutchinson was put into the u21's section (not the ladies) but still had a very impressive 3 out of 7.
Jack Bell played 7 won 5 in the u18's section.
Dynamite Dom Buckley played 6 won 4 in the u18's section.
Saturday night was the money in money out comp which James Hubbard won both u21's and over 21's.

The main event was Sunday, the one they all wanted to win. Rob and James where in the u21,s but unfortunately were both knocked out in the second round. Kirsty was in the u21's ladies, she drew a bye which meant she was in the semi finals where she was knocked out. Jack and Dom in the u18's boys where a little unfortunate to draw each other in the first round, it was a great game with Jack narrowly winning. Jack went on through the next round only to lose to the eventual winner in the quarter finals. Sunday afternoon they ran another money in money out comp which was open to all ages, this was when Dom played his best darts of the whole weekend going through a couple of rounds with 2 ton plus finishes and a 126 on the bull to reach the quarter finals.
